The best standard coffee maker I've across, that won't kill you on price, is this one. The price isn't terrible. Maybe $80.
It makes about 12 cups and you can adjust the coffee plate from warm to hot. It has a charcoal filter and a three-year-limited warranty.
Of course it's programmable. So you can program fresh coffee the night before. And isn't that what you want, anyway? Who wants to get up and make coffee?
