When she rebelled against and abandoned Adam, God created Eve.
"Rebelled against and abandoned Adam." Sound familiar?
The specific reason is that Lilith considered herself to be Adam's equal.
And what did this equality consist of? For one thing, murdering infants. For another, destroying men and drinking their blood.
How about seducing naive young men? She was a "strangler of children and a seducer of men."
Her name actually meant "screech owl" and she personified licentiousness and lust.
"Her legend serves to demonstrate how, when unchecked, female sexuality is disruptive and destructive. Lilith highlights how women, beginning with Eve, use their sexuality to seduce men. She provides thereby a necessary sexual dimension, which is otherwise lacking, to the Genesis story which, when read in literal terms, portrays Eve not as some wicked femme fatale but as a naive and largely sexless fool. Only as a Lilith-like character could Eve be seen as a calculating, evil, seductress."
"In her demonized form, Lilith is a frightening and threatening creature. Much more so than Eve, she personifies the real (sexual) power women exercise over men.
"She represents the deeper, darker fear men have of women and female sexuality. Inasmuch as female sexuality, as a result of this fear, has been repressed and subjected to the severest controls in Western patriarchal society, so too has the figure of Lilith been kept hidden.
"However, she lurks as a powerful unidentified presence, an unspoken name, in the minds of biblical commentators for whom Eve and Lilith become inextricably intertwined and blended into one person. Importantly, it is this Eve/Lilith amalgam which is used to identify women as the true source of evil in the world.
And now we turn to Jezebel.
According to Wikipedia she "incited her husband King Ahab to abandon the worship of Yahweh and encourage worship of the deities Baal and Asherah instead. Jezebel is said to have persecuted the prophets of Yahweh, and to have fabricated false evidence of blasphemy against an innocent landowner who refused to sell his property to King Ahab, causing the landowner to be put to death...Jezebel became associated with false prophets."
She is associated with idolatry and witchcraft.
Again, from Wikipedia: "The name Jezebel came to be associated with false prophets, and further associated by the early 20th century with fallen or abandoned women. In Christian lore, a comparison to Jezebel suggested that a person was a pagan or an apostate masquerading as a servant of God. By manipulation and/or seduction, she misled the saints of God into sins of idolatry and sexual immorality. In particular, Jezebel has come to be associated with promiscuity. In modern usage, the name of Jezebel is sometimes used as a synonym for sexually promiscuous and/or controlling women."
Here is a very good article about what the spirit of Jezebel has wrought.
So what we conclude from these two stories?
When women get away from the authority of men, they rebel and can turn into promiscuous, manipulative women who murder their babies and manipulate weak men into doing their bidding. They practice various forms of witchcraft. They are narcissistic and are only interested in power, domination and control - what I call the Dark Triad for women.
Does any of this sound familiar to you? Feminism, maybe?
It also points out women are the problem because men let them become the problem.
