"Hypergamy" is...

Black Posion Soul has a good post about hypergamy, and how in the past such women would have been humiliated and kicked out of the tribe...or worse things (I remember reading in Gone With the Wind how one man was let out of prison to fight after killing his wife for having an affair).

I generally use the Seven Deadly Sins to explain things (which in written form have been around for thousands of years). Using them, "hypergamy" as be defined as Lust, Laziness and Greed. All are based, ultimately on Pride/Hubris...the mother all sins and the worst of all.

It's not a good thing at all, and you don't need "evo-pysch" fantasies to explain it.

You had a post about Tesla not long ago. Here is someone still alive that might be as eccentric as he was:

Funny on many levels.

Never heard of him, but I'm thinking, "Neanderthal ancestry."

"Never heard of him, but I'm thinking, "Neanderthal ancestry.""

@Bob: I'm not sure what you mean with that statement, but Neanderthals viewed as mentally inferior compared to modern humans may not be accurate. Modern Europeans, which includes Russians, have something like 2-5% neanderthal genetic ancestry.

"But besides the recent genome discovery which only says that we're carrying some Neanderthal genes -- we have yet to recognize that it is likely that those very Neanderthal genes are the cause of the development of human civilization as we know it."

Maybe modern humans, homo sapiens, replaced other human species and other proto-humans not because of intelligence or some other physical or genetic advantage, but by mere "dumb luck"? Maybe homo sapiens humans weren't the best, most intelligent or fittest beings to live on planet Earth. Maybe some peculiar, chance event or circumstance caused early humans to survive and other early human species to perish, without any regard to their distinct genetic makeup being particularly inferior or superior.
