A Quick Note on Being Burned to Death

When people are burned to death while alive they always curl up into the fetal position. If they're not in fetal position they were burned while dead.

This is how investigators tell if people were burned while alive or dead.

That ISIS burning of the pilot is fake. Standing up in a cage while on fire? I don't think so.

Don't be ridiculous. I was a kid when that happened and it has nothing to do with the average person being burned to death.

I'll grant that an old monk long trained in meditation and making the choice of self-immolation is different than a guy in a cage involuntarily being murdered by fire.

You should admit, though, that the monk's example modifies the "always" in your post.

By the way, I too was a kid when that happened, and lived in South Vietnam the year before the monk killed himself. But I don't know what those two facts have to do with what happens to bodies when they are burned.

I didn't watch the video. Was the pilot tied up in a standing position?

The whole video is not available, just a part where he's standing on fire with pretty much a normal look on his face. Then he's supposedly completely engulfed in flames. It looks fake to me.
