If I Was President - or Better Yet, King

The problems in this country are not that hard to fix. It would cause some discomfort at first - maybe a few months - but after that things would start roaring again.

First, no more immigration from the Third World. We don't need anymore 80 IQ Africans, or 90 IQ Mexicans or 90 IQ Muslims. All their welfare is to cut off, and if anyone hires them they go to prison. They will self-deport, and some should be put on planes - which they will pay for - and off they go to the hellholes they came from.

Bye bye.

Close down the Federal Reserve Bank, which is a Constitutionally illegal bank. Let no bank issue its own currency (which is what they are doing now). That's the Treasury Department's job.

Poof, no more inflation. After all, the dollar has lost about 98% of its value since the Fed was created 100 years ago. I can remember when gas cost 30 cents a gallon and you got change back from spending a dollar for a meal at McDonalds.

The banksters who avoided prosecution - off to prison they go.

Default on the national debt. It may be mathematically impossible to pay it off. Maybe not, but why take the chance? After all, any child born automatically owns tens of thousands of dollars. Isn't that indentured servitude?

No more welfare for corporations. It's one of the biggest outlays of the federal government. Let McDonalds and Wal-Mart pull their own weight.

Close down the American Empire. Why do we still have military bases in Germany? And I don't give a shit about the Middle East. When that inborn moron Bush attacked Iraq and removed Saddam Hussein I predicted the mess he was getting into.

I'd close down about 80% of the federal government. All those "non-essential" federal employees can find real jobs, like being carpenters, like I did at 13.

A federal Department of Education? I mean, what the hell?

That's what I would do in my first week. After that I would take a break, maybe play some golf, fool around with the royal floozies (which I why I should be King) and maybe play some blackjack at a casino while dressed in my black tie dinner jacket. Like James Bond.

Being President - what an easy job! And King - even easier!

There certainly are simple clear answers to "complex" problems. Quoting some second-rate columnist who died 60 years ago doesn't impress me at all.

Few problems are truly complex. Most complexity is added by people who don't want to apply the simple solutions.

If we followed the Constitution, there is nothing specific saying the government has to issue currency. I wonder how much of the currency act of 1792 is still in force if at all. I do recall the death penalty for the head guy if he debased the money.

I'm sure plenty of private parties could provide money which I would have no problem with since it would be like choosing any other product you buy. Go look up the Liberty Dollar and what the feds did to the guy. I would be if the entire world were on some sort of free market commodity system the wage disparities would be a lot less.

As for the old people on SS and such, at some point, they will just have to eat shit and drop dead. Those social systems are bankrupt and those who read Mises or Rothbard would know that. Importing third world trash won't solve the problem with their insolvency. It annoys to me to no end that between my forced contribution and employer in my name I could pay off my modest home and be 'less poor'.

You do know they paid into SS their entire lives and the government owes them that plus interest? The money taken out of my paycheck for SS and Medicare is astronomical.

Perhaps you might help the problem and kill yourself? After all, someday you'll be on SS and Medicaid.

Me too. I wish I had that money and invested it myself. I'm sure I would have received a better return than what the government is paying back.

Jeez Louise, are there some misery guts in this comments section, or what?!

If I were King of England I'd have 'The Laughing Policeman' as the national anthem for a couple of years. It'd sure get a few smiles in the audience, even if they were only ironic smiles.

God blessed this nation so abundantly, so far beyond any other nation, that in fact the problems here could be remedied, even at this late hour. And it is very late for this country.

But no, Bob, you as King isn't the answer. Sorry. Thank you for your application however. We will put it in the Applications for King Bin, along with the applications from the other 3.5 billion males on the planet, all of whom believe they should be King.

Despite this, I do share your enthusiasm for monarchy.
