Then one must consider the other social problems created by it: the fact that it is a gateway drug, the crime, the accidents on the road from drivers under the influence, the families ruined by drugs, etc etc. The fact is that if you are going to legally put drugs in the hands of stupid people and criminals, the least you can do is put guns in the hands of responsible citizens so that they can defend themselves against all the failed liberal social experiments you are going to create.Glen Filthiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03256741311142364722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-40844415687375023862014-07-22T18:57:12.226-04:002014-07-22T18:57:12.226-04:00Without the collapse in tax revenue that accompani...Without the collapse in tax revenue that accompanied the Great Depression, Prohibition probably never would have been repealed.

You could tell how desperate things were in Detroit when the state approved a plan to close half of the city's schools. The indoctrination centers are one of the most important cogs in the machine state; they aren't sacrificed lightly.

If governments get really cash-strapped, they may even approve tax credits for private school tuition and/or homeschooling (since these spend a tiny fraction of the money per child that public schools spend). By then, though, things will probably look like Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, and education will be the least of our problems.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
