The best authors - even the lib-leftie flunkies like Asimov and closet pedos like Clarke - knew there was a time and a place to fight.

Vox Day comments sometimes about 'pussies/beta males/pink shirt' SF authors that write about heroes and fighters and how they fail miserably at it because they, themselves - are wimps. He correctly likens it to rabbits writing about being wolves. There's a lot of merit to what he says and from the way you are writing...you obviously don't understand the warrior or the people that admire him.

Heinlein once said that organisms that don't fight for their survival don't deserve to live. So it goes for nations and cultures, and that is why ours is threatened my fig farming moslems with a penchant for violence. They're cowards to a man - except for the outright loons...and they are walking all over us. Next time you are looking for people to point fingers at for that...look in the mirror.Glen Filthiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03256741311142364722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-50298118726582750952015-01-11T08:59:05.494-05:002015-01-11T08:59:05.494-05:00Oh, and LOTR of Tolkien was read a year or two bef...Oh, and LOTR of Tolkien was read a year or two before Solar Lottery (it took me a long time to read it in entirety).Mindstormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02949097462978386911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-79897637107234138062015-01-11T08:54:52.909-05:002015-01-11T08:54:52.909-05:00The first book read all by myself was the Odyssey ...The first book read all by myself was the Odyssey somewhere between 5 and 6 (the memory is too blurry for more exact dating). The first SF novel was Solar Lottery by P.K. Dick at 10. I'm not used to grading books, but for me the best ones are those who gain more approval after second reading than after the first.Mindstormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02949097462978386911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-21579794237584056512015-01-10T08:05:51.133-05:002015-01-10T08:05:51.133-05:00http://phys.org/news200138848.html - interesting.....http://phys.org/news200138848.html - interesting...

A sidenote: Using 'Preview' circumvents reCAPTCHA for me, somehow.
