Women aren't competing for many of the really hard, demanding or physical/dangerous jobs, like roadworker, lumberjack, Fisherman, etc., but they are competing and displacing men in the more cushy office jobs.<br /><br />I think I remember reading somewhere that most female physicians don't practice very long, something like only about 10 years or so, before leaving the profession to start a family or seriously downsizing their work schedules (may have been in the U.K.). This is a waste of medical school, which could have been given to a man who would have been more productive.
