I think people are confusing "h...@Earl Thomas

I think people are confusing "humble of spirit" and "humble origins". The passage you site rightly points out that Jesus was humble of spirit. But He was not from humble origins. One of the popular memes these days was that Jesus was a homeless person. People often point to Jesus' birth as proof that Joseph and Mary were homeless and poor. But they were in a manger (really a barn) because there was no room at an inn. Not because they couldn't afford one.Robert What?https://www.blogger.com/profile/03863449539859132763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-53313286105336018282015-01-23T08:00:52.780-05:002015-01-23T08:00:52.780-05:00'If you think Jesus was poor and humble you ne...'If you think Jesus was poor and humble you never read the Bible.'

I have.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+2%3A+1-11&version=NIVAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16190484330802907362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-11155248832016860302015-01-21T05:23:02.942-05:002015-01-21T05:23:02.942-05:00@Bob Wallace

Amazing how the story of Jesus being some poor, homeless person just keeps going. Because He was humble.

Incidentally, I love the way you frequently use "fairy tales" or "folk tales" to bring ancient lessons to the present times.
Robert What?https://www.blogger.com/profile/03863449539859132763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-47818446291399580402015-01-18T21:54:06.435-05:002015-01-18T21:54:06.435-05:00The Husband Factory is pretty much a modern retell...The Husband Factory is pretty much a modern retelling of this.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16046202647270439670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-84641991336609960202015-01-18T21:44:34.515-05:002015-01-18T21:44:34.515-05:00"You don't want too much of a good thing&..."You don't want too much of a good thing" is what springs to mind.

Good read.knowethnaughthttp://knowethnaught.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8497093028548856666.post-34838958508419196572015-01-18T20:57:17.661-05:002015-01-18T20:57:17.661-05:00This was my favorite 'fairy tale' when I w...This was my favorite 'fairy tale' when I was growing up; it illuminates the vice of people -- especially women -- who are never satisfied nor grateful for anything that they have.
